LL lotar 08-09-2009, 18:14 My wife did kickboxing up til a week before our daughter was born, and she never had any problems during pregnancy or a single stretch mark after the birth.... Hope this helps. Craig. HelpYourself 09-09-2009, 13:54 We've got plenty of groups listed- http://www.sheffieldhelpyourself.org.uk/advanced.asp Try searching with keyword 'pregnancy' and you'll find all sorts of groups. Searching with two keywords will narrow these results (i.e 'pregnancy' and 'swimming'). Hope this helps! Great for toning. If you have always done sport, there's no need to stop just because you're pregnant (unless there are underlying problems) you just have to be sensible. As Lotar said his wife continued training( way to go Debs) with no problems and I continued my gym workouts, but dropped the weights down a tad. If you've never trained before though, take things easy at first. Yoga, swimming & resistance workouts with tubes will be fine. Get walking as well -always good to do anyway. Watch your diet as well -" eating for 2" is a big no no! Pigging out is what will pile on those extra pounds so eat well - good quality protein, fruit & veg and cut out the rubbish - pies, pastries and processed foods. Don't treat your pregnancy as an illness - enjoy it, be happy and carry on with your life as usual. Good luck & congratulations.
