View Full Version : Worried about my cat
shorty558 07-09-2009, 19:44 I've recently ( over a month) started to let my cats go outside, they have been great at coming home, but my eldest one has been out since 5 and still hasn't come back.
I didn't feed him so that he would be hungry and come ome and yet he's still not here.
I'm very worried, am I being unreasonable?
He's probably shacked-up with someone who will feed him! Alternatively, and it depends on how old and whether he's had a little operation, he could be having a really good time... :hihi:
He'll be back.
shorty558 07-09-2009, 19:53 He's about 7 and he's definatly had the 'op' , just worried because he's a rescue cat and wasa stray when we got him.
There's a lot of frogs around at the moment; he's likely playing with one right now. I wouldn't be surprised if he brings you one back later on as a present! If he's anything like ours, he'll let you know that you need to let him in around 3:30a.m. by wailing and meowing at the top of his voice underneath your bedroom window!
shorty558 07-09-2009, 20:27 i hope so, i'm at my wits end!
shorty558 07-09-2009, 20:57 Panic over ...he's home! Came strolling in with no worries!
feel like a right Numpty now tho! lol

Think we've all been there... panicked, felt stupid, wish we hadn't let everyone else know just how totally besotted we are with the silly creatures :hihi:

I think we've all been there I remember getting in a right old state about every single kitten I had when they first didn't come home when expected, evil beasties are cats :hihi:
I get in a right old state hoping the wretched creature won't come back, but she always does... :D
I get worried when ours are out for any length of time, glad he is home
Glad he's back, one of mine was missing overnight once and I was in bits.
I do try to be chilled about mine when they go out, but if you saw me when I'm fostering if any of the foster babies makes a break for it over the doorstep (or on one occasion, out of the kitchen window!). All of the neighbours get dragged in to fetching them back in!
sheffield_uk 07-09-2009, 22:23 One of our cats went missing last year - she was gone all day. We'd feared wth worse until at 11pm that night we got a knock on our door asking if we had a fluffy cat.. we do.
My OH had to go to one of our neighbours houses and retrieve her... she'd been causing terror in there all afternoon and evening! very embarrassing. I still wonder how they weren't able to get a scared cat out of their house though....hmm, very suspicious.

Glad it's not just me then. I've never had a foster cat escape yet, but it's been pretty close. Had mass panic last week when I thought the mum of the kits I'm looking after had made a bid for freedom. Had all the neighbours out looking for her. Found her 3 hours later in my walk in wardrobe where she'd made herself comfortable!! I think she was enjoying the peace away from the kits :hihi:
