Hi all my techy friends :)

I am in need of major help..... My kids were all playing on the pc yesterday and it kept coming up with an error.... Kids didn't tell me this untill much later!

Anyway now when I turn the pc on i get something like this

file corrupt or missing system32.hal.dll.

A friend says I need a recovery disk.. the pc came with windows on so I don't have a disk.... HELP

I need my pc for work and college does anyone have a disk that I could kindly borrow or even buy??

Really can't afford another tower and I cant afford for my pc to be down either :S

Oh by the way... I cant even get on the pc... that codey thing comes up before the pc loads up :S

When booting the computer press f8 and select safe mode.In there find system restore and turn it back to an earlier date.Hopefully that will cure your problem.

Where is system restore in f8?

when I press f8 it still comes up with the error message :(

Home or Pro? What make of computer?

Can you boot in safe mode? If so I can email you the missing file and you can try dropping it in rather than using a recovery disk.
