Have 20 bags for collection
Magsie /haddockman you out there lol.
07878695930 incoming only on that one.
Mods you can delete the older thread if you wish as there was some confusion last time mainly from a certain person no names :hihi:
haddockman 04-09-2009, 14:37 I'll wait for magsie to post on this.
The Pound said they had plenty of bedding, but I'm sure they'd gratefully take more, but magsie said about having some of it for C.A.T.S.
No thanks, CATS can't use duvets. Too big! Jackie likes cat blankets though! Soft ones for the oldies.
Unfortunately at the moment have no time to do dog pound runs unless from south side of sheffield through to north side when I'm on my way through to CATS Firth Park even though I'm missing out on seeing Haddock and Terminator. That Jackie Longley is keeping me busy all day long (and some of the night too!).
Moonbird 04-09-2009, 15:18 I'm sure that there might be other rescues that could use the duvets, it seems a shame when there is a good supply going to let any go to waste doesn't it?
haddockman 04-09-2009, 15:50 I'm sure the duvets won't go to waste, Pound will use them, she just said she they were doing well for bedding at the moment. I'm sure they'd like some to keep for when it's needed.
If anyone does need bedding collecting, I'm usually out and about around Sheffield doing deliveries and have a decent sized vehicle (but please warn me if there's loads as dog crates would need to be collapsed). I have already mentioned to customers about bedding or paper they don't need and have run some to Ferret rescue so am more than happy to dog pound runs and wherever else provided it's local (personal fuel funds are short atm!)

That could be because various people have collected them from here now and that load you two took down is probably about 200 bags now dont think they relise there from one pick up point lol.
Anyway there here should be about 40/50 by next week if these havnt gone by then.

I've got some mohair wool, would that be suitable for cat blankets? It's in somewhat bright colours, but I'm sure that won't matter. If it is OK, what size blankets would Jackie like?
Rainrescue 04-09-2009, 22:33 What about Sheffield Dog Rescue - Gemima would they need them?

Dronfielder has collected job lot on way to pound. Many Thanks i bet its warm in there pal lol.
will update when more available.
terminator 09-09-2009, 20:39 little bit off subject but can anyone donate some blag bags or even a roll of polythene for this bedding at the pound as its not always baged up seems a bit silly but gone through nearly 300 so far lol.
Im not 100% sure (can check) but when i moved into my house we seemed to have a roll of Black Liners that are HUGE (i.e. bigger even than those used for outside black bins?!)! Dunno where they came from, I used one to get rid of all the manky carpet from our basement but cant see a need for the rest... if someone can collect from Crookes they are gladly free?! Will also chuck in a roll of normal black sacks...pretty sure we have loads as me and housemate both seemed to buy loads when moving!
I'll check in min when i go downstairs and post results!!
Yup...defo have some of these huuugggeee bin bags (prob about 4/5 on a roll?) also a load of normal black bin liners to give away if they are needed.
If not able to collect from Crookes, I work in City Centre (in a building opposite Leopold Street) and woud be able to meet someone around there for collecting them.
Hope this helps. :)
terminator 09-09-2009, 21:30 would be area i never cover lol anyone able to collect please
thanks SJT1986 They sound ideal thinking about that sure one of forumers is at crooks and comes down this end.

LitleMermaid 10-09-2009, 16:20 We are in Walkley, so might be able to get up at some point!

seadogPM Sent by your command lol
Rainrescue 19-09-2009, 22:03 Thanks everyone for getting the bedding to the dogs and them at least having comfortable bedding. I think the council are fine to keep storing the bedding down there Seadog - they have lots of rooms, where they will keep it until needed.
It is probably worth asking if they could take it straight to the council - as it may be more central for them to drop off there
Thanks once again to Haddockman and Littlemermaid for helping out - and yet again the Rain Rescue van comes in to help dogs.
keep em coming!!!!
Just did not want terminator getting his knickers in a twist:hihi::hihi::hihi:

There was stacks of it this time, I took 4 crates out of the back of the van and that back section was packed to the roof.
Going to give the pound a ring and take it down this afternoon all being well.
Glad they've got somewhere to keep it, best to take it while it's there rather than be short later in the year.
terminator 02-10-2009, 15:19 15 bags approx.. for collection

Rainrescue 11-10-2009, 18:12 Thanks Terminator and Haddock for helping to keep these dogs warm over winter.
I hate to think of anything being unloved - and they need to at least be warm - whilst waiting for their new owners to hopefully come along.
Come on everyone - get digging out those quilts and blankets and sleeping bags please
Everything is needed

As Rain says, although this has given them a fantastic amount of bedding for the dogs, it won't last that long over the winter, so they still need anything you have lying around. It's easy to drop things off, the pound is close to the city centre.
sazzlebrin 12-10-2009, 12:19 the kennels staff want to say a big thankyou to all of you for your help, you are all fantastic
babyboom 19-10-2009, 11:24 Does the dog pound need any more bedding? I have some clean sheets and duvet covers and probably a few towels too. I would rather they help animals than just be recycled.
I'm in S5.
haddockman 19-10-2009, 14:55 The dog pound always needs more bedding :(
Sure they could make use of it.
