View Full Version : The Fantastic Four - heroes in spandex
Saw this yesterday and was pleasantly surprised - cant wait for the sequel
Mmmm Jessica Alba in Spandex - an image that will stay with me forever :heyhey:
id like to see it. but although jessica alba is a pretty sight...very very poorly cast.
I will wait for the dvd. kids or of school and that coupled with the fact it looks awful and its done by a director I want to kill (Taxi remake:rant: ) I will not be braving chavsville (Odeon or UGC) to watch this.

If you go early enough, the chavs won't be there at UGC.. I tend to go first thing in a morning, usually any time between 10.30 AM and 12 PM, best times to go then as at UGC it's cheap before 12, and there's hardly anyone in.
I tend to go to Odeon as I can walk into town. Its normally not too bad if you go early but with the kids being off......

True, but in my experience they usually go away for at least the first fortnight.. Cos of this thing about their parents getting done for taking holidays during term time.. Bloody silly Government and their daftness :loopy:

I thought that it was perfectly cast...and have done since they first announced the stars. Alba is great, Grufford is well chosen as Reed, Evans is cocky enough for the role of Johnny....as for Chiklis as Ben Grimm....WOW! Perfectly selected casting decision!
i really want to see this film and anything that has the dreamy jessica alba in it gets my vote:thumbsup:
most of the reviews for it have been quite bad but methinks the sequel will be better

in full support of beakerziod, was unsure at first but went to the preview and thoroughly enjoyed. all characters were played in the way i remember the original cartoon strips.
BoppinBruce 25-07-2005, 15:47 The impact of The Fantastic Four is, in my opinion, wasted on the cinema.
There are one or two things that stand out from my younger days. The first time I heard Chuck Berry, we are talking about 1955 here, in Pete Frames bedroom, yes he of Rock Family Trees fame. He had an american penfriend that sent him over a copy.
The others include reading Amazing Fantasy no 15, an American comic that featured the first Peter Parker (Spiderman) strip and Steve Ditko's Marvel drawings of the Stan 'The Man' Lee's, The Fantastic Four.
When we had Beano and Dandy, Topper and Beezer, no 2000AD, this was something that blew me away.
It seems to be lost somehow on the big screen.
Where would Hollywood be tho without the DC and Marvel super heroes?
The film I wait to see is DC and Marvel fighting amongst themselves to see who can sell their product to Hollywood. Now that WOULD be a film.
