Hello Pet People!
I am looking for wheat grains somewhere in and around Sheffield - I need perhaps 2-5kg of them.
When I lived down south I used to go to a feed merchant (and general outdoors horsey type place) but I'm stumped where to get it from in Sheffield.
Horse and Rider were very helpful but the quantities were a little large for my needs (I don't have an large animal to feed!)
I don't know if chickens eat wheat (I'm ignorant when it comes to feathered creatures) but I assume someone will know!
I am also looking for about 4kg of cherry stones. Another big ask!
Thanks so much
xx

Have you tried Argo at Penistone?
I can have a look at what sizes I can get when I order in tomorrow if you like?

That'd be great thanks - I've ordered in a sack but I think I might need some more!

Phoned this afternoon - and also the tack shop again.
Am all sorted for the time being.
Thanks for your help!
Now does anyone know where to get cherry stones from? THink that might be a bit more challenging!!

Sorry to seem really ignorant but what are the cherry stones for?

I want to make a heat bag because I've got a bad neck and was told cherry stones are really good at retaining heat.
And probably smell quite nice too!

ahhh, makes sense now. Thought it was something for the animals. I think you can do the same with wheat as well actually....

Just got back from Horse and Rider in Crookes - what a wonderful place and such helpful people!
Thank you Horse and Rider, I shall be back :)
littleblue - I had a look today but can only get 20kg sacks which I expect is a bit too big for you!
Unfortunately, I don't have anyone else interested in wheat, so can't even split it... sorry!
