Please keep an eye out for our dog who has gone missing a few hrs ago in the Netheredge area. She is a black coloured Whippet (female). She is called Millie and is 3 yrs old. She doesn't know the area as we were just visiting friends when she ran off out of their house. She has a green coloured collar with a pink flower on it. She also has her name and contact number on a tag on the collar.

Hope that she turns up soon. From experience dogs are simple creatures. Check places with food... cafes, takeaways, supermarkets, chip shops... etc. They have a habit of turning up if their belly is rumbling - that's most of the time.

Just heard that this girl was trying to make her way home and was knocked down in a rta she is at the vets at the moment so just hope she pulls through

Very sad news everyone. Millie's injuries were to severe too save and so she had to be put to sleep.

Millie went to Broomhill Vets to be treated. She was found on Tree Root Walk near Jessops and taken to the out of hours vets at Attercliffe by South Yorkshire Pet Ambulance who then took her to Broomhill vets the next day.

Special thanks to the pet ambulance staff who were brilliant and did their best to make her comfortable.

Thanks again for all your messages. We are going to get another Whippet when we get over this.

:-( I'm so sorry. I was in the waiting room n a man asked about the emergency they'd had n the nurse said what had happened. I was waiting to have my little boy put to sleep so I know how you're feeling... sad sad times :'-(
