Can any one please tell me what the name and number means on my parrots ring, MEUA 819. Thanks.

Cant tell you what they actualy mean but there probably related to the breeders details example initails town/city year dna you can actualy choose a various form of details or there a registration numer given by the ring provider or a parrot society registration.
PS Thats only guess work though going on other species.

We have a breeding parrot pair and have our own rings made up the details on them correspond with the breeders initials and a number ( 01 being parrot number one, 02 number two ect ) and then the year they were born.

thats just how we wanted it. your MEUA 819 could be the breeders initials or even MEU < could be the surname and A < could be where the breeder lives, 819 could be anything from cage numbers or parrot number.

cant tell you exactly what they mean but hope ive given you a good idea of what it could be.

Im looking at getting a parrot but im unsure if its a suitable addition to the family as i have very little experience with birds although i did have a budgie for quite some years ( my brother decided to let him out for a fly and didnt close the windows first!!!)

Any advise would be greatly recieved
