View Full Version : Good old cuddly Ken does it again
After the London bombings , we had the pleasure of seeing that man of the people , "cuddly " Ken Livingstone , travelling bravely on the tube to work and telling the world that , " Londoners can take it . These evil bombers will not defeat Londoners ".
Not so long ago , this same man was happy to share a welcoming platform with a Muslim cleric who had advocated blowing the whole of Israel to smithereens.
Terrorists , who are blinkered , will kill anyone who doesn't agree with them ;-----Isrealites , Westerners , fellow -Muslims ; perhaps Ken assumed that if he cuddled up to one type of Muslim extremist , the others might say ,
" Well , we won't bomb London , then . After all , Ken seems to get on o.k with terrorists. "
His attitude towards the I.R.A. terrorists was , to say the least , ambigious .The spokespersons for the I.R.A. al;ways got a warm welcome from Uncle Ken.
An example of his way of thinking is , after the London bombings , he said [to paraphrase ]'
" These terrorists have targeted the working-class people of London " [!] I suppose the bombs were designed only to kill those in cloth caps.
Red Ken is about 20 years out of date . If terrorists think someone is , "soft" towards them , they won't , "hold back " .
Anyone not of their persuasion is a target , preferably innocent passers -by as they are an easier target than anyone else.
and who are more likely to use the tube? people on lower earnings.
Don't get me wrong I don't agree with the lot of drivel that comes out of his mouth but I think he's being anything but soft. If Londoners decided to be too scared to use the tube then that is giving the signs of being soft to terrorists.
If you ever travelled on the tube in London , you'd realise that it's virtually classless.
A lot of people from the rich suburbs travel part of the way into London , park up and catch the tube through the inner suburbs. In any case why mention , "working -class " until he knows who all the victims are ?
Can anyone seriously imagine the terrorists being bothered what class of people they killed ? In fact , the more , "important " , the greater impact it would have.
It's just Red Ken , reverting to his adolescent socialism again , storming the barricades against the Capitalist -imperialist -bourgoise classes that have a strangle-hold over the proletariat and the workers of the world.

but the use of working class in modern society is mainly used to describe people who work. Any time I've heard him use that since he became major has referred to the working person.
Yes , you're right. Some electorate would elect a monkey , if it belonged to the right political party.
We can't blame Red Ken , for one minute ,for being the Mayor of London. Can you imagine Ken , NOT accepting power ?His first foray into local politics was a rather underhand coup against the democratically elected leaders of London Council. If people actually vote him in , then , yes , we have to accept their decision ------as we did with Margaret Thatcher ------4 times .
The mind boggles though when you think that a supposedly politically-mature country like ours chooses to elect a comforter of terrorism , in this day and age.
I suppose it's not too surprising , though , come to that , when you look at some of the samples who have been elected , here and there across the world , over the years.

or even a monkey mascot:D
Robbie , but by his words , he implies that the terrorists targetted , "working " people when they decided where to blow themselves up.
Isn't it more likely that they just picked a place where there were a lot of people and it was easy for them to melt into the background ?
For a man who 's presumably intelligent , why didn't Ken say , "working people " and not , "working class ".
What about unemployed people , tourists , students , kids a bit late for school , people just going shopping who may have never worked in their lives ? Why bother to mention it at all ? Why not just say , "the people of London" ?
No , I'm afraid Red Ken still can't accept that right -wing victims are as important as his precious , left -wing , "workers of the world ".
