Im Xidus and i like computers XD I like new ones and old ones, windows and linux/unix i love everything to bits! But i hate it when people throw good usful pc's away :P I know most people dont know where to keep them so ive come up with an idea, i need some old hardware to throw togther a simple box and ive heard that people dont know a good way to recycle computers :( So im offering to take old computers off your hands for the nice sum of £0.00 :o If you want to drop one off or pick one up post me or messege me please :)

Do you have any with 5.25 floppy disks using Wordstar (if you can remember that?) I've got work on very old floppies which I want to access.

I have a 5.25" drive. I can copy the files to 3.5" for you if you'd like.

Very much so. Do you know how and if these files can then be upgraded to word 2003?

And yes, you old-old word docs are more than likely transferable to Word 2003 :)

I'd like to add that I'm very much like Xidus, I'll take any of your old PCs and componenets (sorry Xidus I'm not trying to wind you up with the same ad;) )

i save old bits too, had a couple of puters given me that i still use :P

infact ive just dug out an old 2gb hard drive im gonna try in a neighbours puter cos i had a look yesterday and im sure their hard drives mash up :(
i dont have any idea at all how they got from cleaning the mouse to hard drive failure, the mind boggles, but thats what looks like has happened

I'm a bit far away to join in with the collection of old bits, but if anyone's throwing a P4 3Ghz or above out I'd be happy to come and collect it. :) :)

a mate in irc says they might have banged the puter when putting the mouse back in??????

ive banged mine thousands of times, mainly when trying to slide the damn sides back on mine :( not an easy task, normally takes longer than the repair job, mines always still worked :)

surely you live close to somebody? who might chuck out old puter bits, everybody does, even me living out in the sticks near the sea has aquired a couple free or £20 that ive reused :)
