I've come to the end of my contract, and want to convert over to Pay As You Go.

I'm with vodafone at the moment.

What's involved, what do I need to do after I've wrote to them to cancel my contract?

I will need to use the phone for calls, txts, and GPRS.

Sure, I may want to change networks though, shopping arround for the best deal and all that.

then you need to ring voda and get your P.A.K. code you give this code to the new network and i think it takes a week to 10 days to swap it over.

If you're on a voda contract, and cancel it after 12 months (or however long you have to be on it), cant you just simply buy a voda payg sim and pop that in......?
or do contract phones not work like that?

I got a good PAYG deal with O2, I have to top up at least £10/month and I get 300 free texts for that, not too bad for PAYG I think. I was on Virgin before which was good service, but I didn't know enough other people on it to make it worth my while.

That will be alright if Jamie doesnt mind having another number, but if Jamie wants to have the same numberm Voda will need to sort it out.

I want the same number, and will prob move over to easy mobile:

https://www.easymobile.com/

Looks like good value, 5p per text and 15p per minute (to any network).

No GPRS though :(

Ah well ... good ole vodafone made me an offer I couldn't refuse to stay with them for another 12 months ...

For £7.50 a month I'll get ...

75 xnet mins (incl. stop the clock).
and
250 sms texts.

YAY

Just to be pedantic, it's PAC - Port Authorisation Code :)
