Hello everyone,
Could anyone tell me which pubs in Nether Edge have function rooms? I did a search and found that the Brincliffe Oaks does, but is there any others? Also, does anyone know what the Brincliffe Oaks one is like?
Thanks in advance!

You could try the Nether Edge bowling club across the road from the Thresher.
Its not going to be cheap but the Marriott hotel is another option.
Thanks NorthernSoul - I've alreday looked at the Marriott, which is why I'm checking out cheaper alternatives!!
Not quite Nether Edge, but only a further 2 mons away. Why not try Baldwins omega, good facilities and fabulous Food.

I've done a couple of gigs at the Brincliffe.
The room is totally seperate from the pub and has it's own enternce from the car park. the room is up stairs and is pretty good. It has it's own bar and toilets and it will easily hold 150 - 200 people comfortably.
the decor is ok and there are a lot worse function rooms around.
Thanks Eyespy, will look into Baldwins.
Blimey - the Brincliffe Oaks is massive - I don't know 150 - 200 people!

How many people are you planning for?
It's going to be my wedding reception - so I was thinking about 40 people for food after the ceremony, then about 120 at night.
I'm not sure whether to have both bits in the same place yet though. It's all very stressful!

I came across this site when searching for something else, not sure if its any good for you? http://www.nebc.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ (Nether Edge Bowling Club Function Room Hire)
Last time I played at the Brincs function room, it was free to rent as long as there was a certain taking (£100 or something silly) at the bar.
Quite nice up there too, and a fair bit bigger than NEBC.

Brincliffe Oaks is good.
I went to a wedding do there last year and it's a good size with its own separate bar, entrance (you don't have to walk through the pub to get to it, but you might as well pop your head in for a quick one), and t's got its own toilets which is handy for when your auntie overdoes it and needs to throw-up in private.
Showing my age now, but I spent Christmas Day 1982 up there.
I recommend it and can't imagine it being too expensive to hire.
And if you go and think it's poo, then get yourself downstairs, a pint of Stella, some loud music on the jukie, footie on the big-screen tele, mighty cheap cheeseburger and rack the balls up for a game of pool.
There: Sold it to yer, haven't I?
