Hi All,

I have just bought a suit that fits perfectly except the sleeves seem to be abit too long for my arms (about 2-3 inches), I jus wondered is it possible for a tailor to shorten the sleeves even if it will then affect the buttons?
Also if its possible would like to know the general cost for a service of this type as well as the name of a good tailor please.

Thanks guys and gals

When you say too long are you certain? Reason I ask is that I used to like them fairly short but was told in London once that you should be able to put your hands fully extended, and the sleeve should reach the tip of your thumb, if that makes sense?

ERM...maybe it would be less expensive to lengthen your arms a little?

There is a dry cleaners on Division Street that I think do alterations. It's a fairly easy thing to do and only a few quid.

Richard Johnson on Ecclesall Road, opposite Ecclesall Church, cost about(?) £12
