View Full Version : Best Agencies in Sheffield??
scaramanga 22-07-2005, 11:04 Ive done a small search and got these up to now. Can anyone suggest some others worth trying. Im after any job at the moment really but ideally something in the media industry/creative jobs.
Chambers Recruitment
brook st
Tek agency (Trippet lane)
Ranstad
Kelly Services
office angels
(one across from tj hughs??)
uniteddaz 22-07-2005, 12:01 you might want to try blue arrow next to cavells on the high street city centre
royjames 22-07-2005, 17:31 Try stafforce, also on high street, nice people.
I am currently on an IT development contract that I obtained through Modis.
Spring and Hayes are also good. They're based in Leeds (but Spring has a Sheffied office) but often have contracts here in Sheffield.
One thing I would say is that everyone and their dog wants to work in the creative industries / media.
Be prepared for stiff competition and few jobs.

alternageek 23-07-2005, 14:05 STAY AWAY FROM KELLYS.
they all have their heads up their asses. jesus christ.
Adecco has been pretty good and came recomended to me.
Have you looked at Reeds?
Kthebean 23-07-2005, 14:09 Randstad are an excellent agency.
You can find them on leopold street in town, near Virgin records. Or is it HMV? I can never remember.
mjlacey21 25-07-2005, 12:04 I don't mean to be negative but the chances of getting any type of media job through an agency in Sheffield is very very small. There is so much competition for so few jobs.
ianbrownfan 04-08-2005, 13:22 Try Office Angels they are really good. I got an interview the day after going in!
Reed are quite good as well.
Internetowl 04-08-2005, 22:18 try Jobnet - free and provide real jobs for real people
jdgraham83 05-08-2005, 09:34 definatley try addeco they have always come through for me and they have sent me to some pretty intresting places not just your normal call centre stuff
I would recommend Hays, Chamber Recruitment Services, Prime Time recruitment are also good. They have a much more "personal" approach which is really refreshing after the "conveyor-belt" attitude of certain high street agencies!
try jobdrop, we can help you, a few agency's use us so you might get the best of both worlds.
chris1983 08-08-2006, 12:43 Try Right4Staff they are nice people and got me the job i'm still in today

Try masterstaff
the manager is such a nice person and found me a job near enough straight away
Twinkletoes 29-11-2006, 11:34 MasterStaff on Surrey Street is an excellent agency. The Consultants are so friendly and helpful and they helped me to find work straight away.
PercivalPete 11-12-2006, 16:23 Kelly Services. 0114 2796577. Listened to me, offered advice, updated my CV and talked my through my perm interview until I was totally confident. Even gave me a 1 hour pre brief and post interview chat. I'm a team leader now - earning some excellent money.
I temped for two years and have the following advice:
Spring - friendly and they will find you something but it won't be the job of your dreams.
Office Angels - bunch of hopeless morons
Manpower - professional enough but go in with some idea about what you want to do (be realistic - I don't mean to be harsh but saying the word 'creative' in Sheffield will get you laughed out of the door).
Kelly - as above.
Brook Street - for some reason they all eat thier lunches on the desk and this really put me off! Friendly but never found me anything. Oddly enough the Brook Street in Hull was excellent but that's probably no good for you.
