View Full Version : Can anyone recommend a tree surgeon?
jyoungie 24-08-2009, 11:52 We've got an apple tree and the bottom half of the branches look like they've got some sort of disease. Can anyone recommend a tree surgeon, to cut it down? It's probably about 18 feet tall and around 12 feet at its widest.

mazzanova 23-09-2009, 08:28 The Local Authority may have a list of approved Tree Surgeons or the Arboricultural Association. If you use Yellow Pages ask to see chain saw certificates and insurances

why not just get a bow saw and cut away the bad branches ? seems a shame to kill such a nice tree

I haven't used Anderson Tree Care but I've heard from friends that they are good and I've noticed that the drivers are exceptionally considerate around cyclists. :)
sskirrrow 21-07-2011, 19:29 Well, that's it then, if they are considerate to cyclists, better use them. LOL.
staceyndave 21-07-2011, 20:15 hi there ,
i had 5 trees in serious need of a cut and tidy, i thought it was going to be a very very expensive job, i had several quotes and settled on ELLABBS in this forum...

I know it's funny, but I've noticed their really considerate driving and wanted to thank them somehow.
I can beat any genuine quote on here, we are fully qualified and posses a waste carriers licence for waste removal, please call us on 07651 364042 to discuss yor specific requirments.... Andy
sskirrrow 26-07-2011, 14:49 Me too. A person who performs Tree Surgery is an Arborist. When choosing is an Arborist, Checkable qualifications are the first things to take into account. Without these, insurance and everthing else goes out of the window. Being considerate to cyclists is nice but the last thing you should take into account.
emmaggreen 17-09-2011, 13:24 Would like to recommend J B Hibberd, Arboricultural Contractors (tree surgeons) who cut down & removed 5 large conifers from our garden. Excellent price, half of what one of the big chains quoted us, brilliant job done and very pleasant chap!

Bolehill 18-09-2011, 15:03 I used Broomhill Tree Services very recently and they were very good. Efficient & tidy & reasonably priced.
We use Ian Bird of Wisewood/Loxley. He arrives on time, does the job as pre-arranged, leaves the garden really tidy and does all you ask for a reasonable price. Wouldnt use anyone else.
hey jane..... we do that and more ... my mate does the customers ironing while im up the tree. and then we wash the car ..before we leave ..
now thats a service ...
we have never ever had any complaints..... customer satisfaction guranteed or your money back...
sskirrrow 27-09-2011, 12:00 Customer Satisfaction, that's what it all about... Hey ellabbs. I have a tree that needs pruning, but will you call and pick the wives prescription up from the Chemist on your way here, oh and give the dog a quick walk round the park...
