Me and hubby are thinking of having another child, however I have had 2 c-sections and was wondering what the chances of trying 'natural' would be? Any advice appreciated.

My sister had three children all by C section and she was told she 'had' to with the third. I don't know whose benfit that was for ...hers or the doctors. I had two 'naturally' and my third by elective C section. I will get shot for saying this but the C section was the nicest! I had awful complications with the first two births which left me needing a C section with the third. I held him sooner, he cried when he was born and the whole thing was altogether less traumatic. Whatever you decide do it for you and your family. Do not be guilt tripped into thinking you have to do it 'properly'. The most important thing is that you have a healthy safe beautiful baby at the end of it. Think about the reasons you had the first two by C section...Were those problems which could be avoided or are they likely to happen again? Good luck and three is wild but fun!!!

Im guessing it would totally depend on why your first 2 children were born by C/S. My first was emergency C/S due to malpresentation and my nearly 10lb second was a very quick ventouse assisted delivery. For me I recovered much quicker and found things much easier after the birth of my second child (being able to get in and out of bed and lift the baby without pain were definitely plus points). I know that things have changed recently with what is recommended for ladies who have had a previous C/S and just because you have had one before does not discount you from trying a 'natural' delivery - in fact it is positively recommended (not sure what the official stance is after having more than one c/s but I know there are ladies who have had natural deliveries after multiple C/s but may be able to find out for you). It will need lots of research on the subject as you may find you have a fight on your hands due to the scar tissue being slightlly weakened. Good luck with things!

your age and time between your expectany date and the last birth will all have an important role in deciding.

We are due end of October and have elected to go with C/s
it will be 2.5 years since my wifes emergency c/s

the thought of quicker recovery time, being able to carry new born, easier to breast feed all caused dillema, but we chose what we felt was the safest route for baby and mom, a planned c/s

Achieving a "VBA2C" which is what you are considering is a well researched thing. There is loads of helpful information and others who are doing it. Here are a few places to seek out information.
http://www.caesarean.org.uk/Articles.html
http://www.vbac.co.uk/
http://www.aims.org.uk/ - search site for vbac and you'll come across an article.

The hospitals tend to have fairly tight policies on VBACs in hospital, so it might be worth considering an independent midwife (http://www.independentmidwives.org.uk/). Book a consultation with one or simply give one a call to chat about it to find out more about what they can do.

I wish you luck on your journey of discovery, and do get in touch if you'd like any further information.

Many thanks for everyone's input, we will be considering the pro's and con's of both sides but after speaking with the midwife a c - section would almost certainly advised due to my previos pregnancies :( A little guttering but never the less as long as the baby is ok.
