Just wondered if anyone else was annoyed with friends / family etc going on and on and on about YOUR wedding.
Yawn, I'm so not bothered. Its only a day. An over priced, over hyped and long day. (which I plan to escape from as soon as possible)
Perhaps I should be getting excited and running around like a headless chicken however I somehow think its all a bit, well, pathetic. Just wondered if anyone else thought it was a big money making machine of tackiness. Gosh I sound so miserable however this is genuinely how I feel about the whole tack saga!
To call people 'pathetic' is a little over the top. Some girls grow up dreaming of their weddind day. It's personal preference and just because you don't like all the 'tackiness' that is involved with a wedding doesn't mean that other girls/ladies don't want the whole shabang! Yes, sadly there are companies/people who take the micky and charge way over the top for things that would normally, not associated with the word 'wedding', be half the price, but for some all that makes the day, for others it's the meaning of the ceremony!
Where, When are you getting married? I like the sound of escaping, I might have a backup plan for my wedding incase it gets too much ; )
I would suggest you don't bother at all and save yourself the expense of a divorce.

Ha ha - perhaps not the best post to add to a forum designated to girls (mainly) talking non-stop about weddings!!

Aww it sounds like you are not looking forward to your wedding day?
If that's the case, that's quite sad for you :(
You don't have to have a tack-fest! The whole point is to make it special to you - a day you actually will enjoy and look forward to, and look back on in fondness!
Why don't you do something completely different that is totally non-traditional? Just a great party for you & your best mates?

Or go abroad to get married, it can often work out cheaper. We were married at sunrise in a personal service on a beautiful beach and the rest of the day was just fun!
If you love your man/woman, it shouldn't be a chore saying 'I do', I agree with KATIEB 23, you can make it to how you want it. Just a sit down drink in a bar if you really want.
I'm not a huge fan of all the attention and stress of the day but I'm getting married for me and no one else! :S
