I want to choose myself where the breaks go. Thanks for your help. It's difficult to achieve, is it a dance mix that has a continuous flow of music or is it separate tracks where a break in the middle of each track is acceptable? If it's the latter, you could try this: http://www.yaosoft.com/ If its a mix, where a 2 second gap in between tracks will ruin the mix then the only one I know that does it well is Mixmeister (which I use to create mixes), but it aint free! liam_s1 20-08-2009, 14:56 It is an old radio recording. I could always use Windows Movie Maker and do one section at a time and save the clips as audio. bkcin 20-08-2009, 16:31 Either of these programs will do what you need to do very easily. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ http://www.goldwave.com/ I personally use goldwave but both are pretty decent. WhiteHawk 20-08-2009, 17:10 I use Audacity, very simple to use. To save it as an MP3 though you need some codec thing but don't worry, the first time you try to save your file as an MP3, it will tell you that you need it and it will then download it for you (I'm sure it did for me anyway) Alky 20-08-2009, 21:30 Hi Whitehawk - how do you split in audacity? Any advice gratefuly accepted.:help: I can't quite remember how it works with Audacity as I haven't used it in a while but when using Goldwave, you load up the track and it shows you the wave form of the entire track, you can then highlight sections of this and then click on File>Save Selection As which will then convert that part of the track into its own file. If memory serves me right, in Audacity you highlight the bit you want to save and click on "Export selection as mp3" in the File menu. Audacity also allows you to normalise your levels, which is handy with old radio recordings, so you might wish to do that first before you split the file. |
