There's legit copies on Ebay for about £40.

Wouldn't it have been quicker to actually search on ebay than to start a topic in the hope that someone else would look for you?.......

Seller is in Germany and presumably the LAN cable is to justify OEM requirements ?

Still it's a good buy if you're desperate for XP.

As is usually the case on these threads, it results in a PM offering a "copy".

the problems with getting XP from ebay are

you could be buying a cracked copy full of warez
you could be buying the already registered OEM copy that was originally used on the sellers machine before they upgraded, M$ won't accept the transfer of an OEM license
the seller may just disappear with your money

but you might be lucky, you never know

CCL have 100% legitimate copies of XP home and professional, guaranteed never to have been used, in stock, for pick up or delivery

if you shop around you may find cheaper legit copies

So far I've bought:

Windows 2000
Windows ME
Windows XP
Windows Vista
Windows Small Business Server 2003
Office 2003
Office 2007
SQL Server 2005 Developer
SQL Server 2008 Developer
Visual Studio Standard 2008

From eBay and had no problems. It's usually best to make sure you buy from someone with an online shop. They need a business account for that, and I just find them more reliable.

I'd agree with that

what sort of prices did you pay ?

For XP, it was between £35 and £40 including postage. That was several months ago though.

Generally, about 25% to 30% less than an independent store for most of them.
