Is there someone in the Sheffield 6 area who is a whizz with Broadband connections? I need help!!

I'm also having probs with mine.

It only seems to happen when running on line games and when using live chat?

With the online games I get 'connection interupted' with a counter counting away the seconds.

With online chat I get no text for ages and when I try to send some I get disconnected.

Anyone have any ideas as I am useless with computers!!

Any help will be much appreciated.

What ISP are you with ? what connection speed ? and do you have...(sorry to use such bad language guys)..Norton Internet Security installed.

I'm with AOL and it's connected through DSL. I've got McAfee installed. It just started within the last week or so and nothings been changed at all.

I knew you were going to say AOL Hell, as it is a law unto itself and even their so called 'techies' don't know what they are talking about.

Would guess they have done some regrading or something along those lines. Mcafee is probably one if the less intrusive ones. But you might want to check that AOL has complete freedom within the firewall settings. If parts of AOL are being blocked then it will cause grief.
