View Full Version : The breadmaker thread went so well. So what's your favourite appliance?
foxy lady 18-08-2009, 16:11 Following on from the super successful thread on breadmakers, I though I would try another whilst I am on a roll.
What electrical appliance is your favourite?
Why?
Could you live without it?
Has to be my coffee pot, none of these tassimo type things for me, I drink coffee by the jug!
Plus it has a nifty timer on it so I wake up to a fresh pot and a gorgeous aroma every morning.
The only other thing I can think of would be my slow cooker, although I nearly went insane from the smell of lamb in red wine and rosemary cooking away all afternoon on Sunday.
Does an Xbox count? :hihi:
If not, the kettle. Got to always have a cup of tea in hand.
My hand held blender aka the blitzer. I can't make smooth custard, soups or sauces without it. It's my meal saver.
millhouses24 18-08-2009, 21:26 1. Laptop
2. Hairdryer
3. Kettle
Couldn't manage without a pressure cooker.
Recently bought a new one, WMF perfect plus, absolutely marvellous.
No noise, no steam just pefectly cooked food in ultra fast time.
Makes soup in 8 mins and marmalade in 30 mins.
I've got quite a thing for both my washer and my dishwasher. I'm the house laundry fairy and it makes me feel that all is right with the world when there are piles of clean laundry around the house (I know, the logical part of me recognises that this is ever so slightly strange).
However, I couldn't cook properly without the ultimate kitchen accessory- the hands free can opener. If you have one arm which doesn't work properly (like me) and have only your 'wrong' arm left to work with, cans are demonic and normal can openers are worse. Normal can openers reduce me to tears of frustration.
I'm on my second hands free can opener now- I killed the first one, although I'm not sure how. For a measly £15 my hands free can opener is a small piece of heaven :)
gina2007 01-09-2009, 21:07 I have lots of kitchen gadgets... but I couldnt live without my boil wash option on the washer :hihi: I have cream bedding, the cover, the sheet, the slips... All pure cream and I have to wash it on a 90 boil wash with something flowery smelling... And dry it outside. Arrr im going to wash my bedding now.. :D
I know its not exactly something 'special' but I just love it.
Oh and my deep fat fryer :hihi:
pattricia 01-09-2009, 21:14 Love my dishwasher.

I don't have any electrical foody gadgets really. My fave food related kitchen items are my Le Creuset casserole and my nutmeg grater!
