Just been told this - does anyone know any details?

Just checked Sheffield Traffic Cameras web thingy. Camera unavailable at the moment? Any more info anyone?:confused:

Drove past the roundabout at the top of Corp street.

Police volvo parked across top of road with two armed bobbys stopping traffic going down. Could see an all white police van and more polic cars about halfway down, near the first set of traffic lights... couldn't see anymore as the traffic was flowing ok going up past the fire museum. Huge queues backing up the other way.

That was about 30mins ago.

Would it be the bomb scare incident at Ponds Forge?

I travelled along there at 3:45pm and everything it was clear. No sign of any incident.

Perhaps it was a prisoner being taken to/from court? Must have been a highly dangerous one though to have armed police

I understand it was a prisoner. The prison van was escorted out in convoy with police cars. I didn't see it myself but work in Neepsend where the information was gathered.

Anyone substantiate this?
