Probably online at Dell, the Dell Inspiron Mini 10v is £249 or the Mini 10 which is faster and has bluetooth at £299.

Better to get a netbook if all you want is something you can write letters on and surf the net.

The vast majority of a laptop is in its screen, so the smaller you go the more money you can spend on processor, ram etc and get a better piece of kit.

Don’t go to Currys or PCworld, they will rip you off and their staff, on the whole, know diddly squat. Dell do deals all the time, their only shortfall is the support which for none business is based in India.

You can pick up a top range Dell Inspiron Mini 10 for £299 or the basic Dell Inspiron 15 starts at £299.

I like the Samsung NC10 comes in around £310

or the MSI wind netbooks are under £300.

Both sell well

Look at the Medion E1210, refurb with 90 day warranty available from IdealKit for £199 here (http://www.idealkit.co.uk/products/medion-e1210-10-intel-n70-netbook)

This is a re-branded MSI Wind, which would normally sell for about £250+ for a similar spec. It also comes with Windows 7 upgrade voucher. This is a bargain price, high quality netbook. The hard drive isn't the biggest, but if all you're doing it internet/email/word processing it's absolutely ideal.

I fixed one over the weekend and can't recommend it highly enough for £199. Just to confirm 90% of netbooks use the same components at the moment, it has the same power as a Samsung NC10. the only differences are typically screen and build quality (and the Medion is good in that area), hard drive size (it's good enough), and battery life.
