Teeny - I have taken a picture of the stray cat but can't put it onto this thread - not very clever with the computer! If you give me your email address I will send the picture to you (that's something I can do!)

I have relented and fed her - and have contacted the Sheffield Cats Shelter. They say her owners are probably on holiday and she hasn't been missed yet - but failing that she can go on their waiting list. They are very responsible about who they allow to have their cats, my daughter had 2 from them and had to be most thoroughly vetted, to coin a phrase!

I have just been to Sainsburys (used to be Jacksons) at Netheredge and there is a poster by the tills there of a cat that was lost on 6 August. There is also a picture of it and it does look like this cat - The lost cat's name is Fudge. Perhaps you could telephone Sainsburys and ask them for the contact number from the poster ?

Acorns.. thanks very much for this! Oh.. Im Anna - gingerpuss is my mum :-)

I have phoned the supermarket, got the number off the poster, and the owner of lost cat is looking at the emailed picture of the cat as I email.

I will post with any more news!! Paws crossed..

Oh by the way.. Sheffield Cats centre is a great place to take, or to find cats. We got two as my mum said, and they are gorgeous. On Dec 14th we will have had them two years - our family is complete now we have them :-)

Ahhh what a shame.. it wasnt Fudge :-(

The search continues. Meanwhile, lost cat is happy fast asleep on parents sofa :-) They will take it to Sheffield Cats Home when the shelter has space.

Hi, Fudge's mum here - thanks for letting Happyanna and Gingerpuss know about Fudge being missing - such a shame it wasn't her.

Still searching for Fudge, everyone's being so kind - I don't think there are many people in Sharrow and Nether Edge who don't know she's missing now - we seem to have achieved blanket coverage. Miss her so much.

Thanks Teeny, we've delivered about 600 flyers and put up lots of posters, and still finding new places for them. I think putting info out at least makes us feel like we're doing something, a bit less helpless.

Still just got to wait though. I hate thinking of her out in the big wide world fending for herself.

I went to see Crunchy last night..(Oh, and my parents lol) shes a cute little cat, quite old by how she feels, very affectionate, although she dosnt like to be surprised and she dosnt like flash photography!

My dad has obviously fallen in love with her, my mum is trying to keep a "we dont want another cat" head on but I would place a smallish bet that Crunchy might stay ;-)

Hurrah! The cat's owner saw my poster in Tesco when she came back from holiday, very upset because the cat was apparently missing. The owner had arranged for someone to feed her, but we think she had been frightened away by a neighbour's cat who came through the catflap and sprayed and ate the food! So relieved to find the owner.

its nice to get an ending to the story.. my bet seems to be lost, but Crunchy might well go visit them, as the real owner only lives a few doors away.

Crunchy is 13!!!

Indeed.. and I think the owner of the bully cat that was terrorising poor little crunchy into running away will be told (and hopefully have its balls chopped off soon!!)

Happily reunited with her owner who came back from holiday!
She had rejected the attentions of the cat-sitter.

Heh... Our little friend visited my parents again today.. she was walked almost all the way back to her permanent humans on my dads back (Crunchy thinks shes a parrot) then when she twigged where she was going, my dad held her in his arms and firmly returned her home! lol!
