View Full Version : Lost dog - please help *found*
samstar999 17-08-2009, 13:24 Hello all
My friend's dog has run away.
It's a Lhasa apso - small - white with brown patches.
He ran away in the early hours of Sunday morning from Slate Street at Heeley
Collar is red with silver bones on it but no tag. (Dog is chipped).
If anyone has seen him can you PM me or ring my friend on 07970 756647
Thanks in advance.

Moonbird 17-08-2009, 14:07 Sam there is lots of good information on what to do if you find or lose a dog at the top of the group here (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=459078) has your friend rang the dog warden yet?
samstar999 17-08-2009, 14:23 Hi Moonbird
Yes, she has thanks ... he is also on the RSPCA site as 'lost Barney'.
Thanks for the link, I'll let her know. (I think this has happened before and he was missing for a couple of days).
Sam
Moonbird 17-08-2009, 14:51 Oh dear, perhaps she needs to think about how he is escaping then and stopping that happening, a Lhasa apso is very small and wouldn't stand much of a chance if he was hit by a car, also having the "cute factor" I would think that people are likely to pick him up.
I hope that she finds him soon, perhaps some posters around the area might be a good idea, oh and ring around local vets too.
pink fairy 17-08-2009, 14:52 Hi
I will keep my eyes open as i walk my dog round heeley area. I have just done quite a walk round heeley today and not seen anything. I would recomend putting posters up ? Good luck he back soon.
samstar999 17-08-2009, 15:43 Hi Pink Fairy
She is postering this evening.
Thanks for your reply ...
Sam
Also you will need to ring round all the rescues to see if he has been taken in. He is chipped so should have been scanned but worth putting the word round for them to note lost and found registers.
Also ring Spring Street Pound and try here:

just wondering if he home yet ? Been out looking but no joy.
samstar999 19-08-2009, 09:00 Hi Pink Fairy
We think there has been a sighting at between Heeley Green and Millennium Park (nr the Sheaf). Apparently he was growling and couldn't be caught.
Sarah (who's dog it is) has been looking this morning but couldn't see him.
Thanks very much for keeping an eye out.
Will def let you know if he turns up.
Many thanks again.

Phew!!!!
SamGreat news that they have found him :)
I would like to suggest (in the gentlest way) that Barney's owners are a bit more careful about keeping him inside in future.
This may not be the same dog (but if there were 2 Lhasas on Slate street I would be very suprised!) but I was walking along Slate Street a couple of years ago, and there was a Lhasa roaming freely on the pavement with no-one supervising, and he bit my dog then disappeared up a ginnel.
Thats very irresponsible of the owners.
I know he's just a little dog and couldn't do much harm (my dog wasn't hurt, just a bit confused!) but if he had bitten a nastier dog it could have attacked back.
I'm not having a go, I just think the owners would be terribly upset if something awful happened to Barney due to their negligence.
Classic Rock 20-08-2009, 13:55 Glad to hear he's safe. I hate hearing of lost dogs. Bad memories of when I lost mine for a while.
pink fairy 20-08-2009, 15:20 It ok i am just so glad he home and safe :). I was getting worried as , lots of busy roads around the area aswell .
