Her name is Fudge. She's a little over 6 weeks old. She's absolutely tiny and adorable :)

We've slowly introducing her to our older cat, Boo. She's terrified of her at the minute. We had one hiss last night but otherwise she just sniffs her and runs away :hihi:

I just wanted to ask - how much does a 6 week old kitten normally eat? She's not eaten a lot since we've had her home (yesterday afternoon) but she is weeing and pooing fine. She's not acting hungry - She has dry and wet food down, she's eaten some wet food but seems to prefer dry at the minute. I know at 6 weeks she is very young but we have a good reason for having her at this age.

Pics are here (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=134456&id=509531418&l=00a18c02e6) if anyone wants to see :D

Congrats. What im going to say isnt a go at you because i know you said you have a good reason for having her but she should only be with you if you have hand reared before because A kitten should be kept until AT LEAST 9 weeks, however most go at 10-12 weeks because a 6 week old kitten has only been fully weaned for about 1-2 weeks and some slower!!!! It should still be with its mum if it has one. If not it should be with the person that hand reared it until the same age.

I know even when kittens are abandoned by their mum and are brought up by hand they still shouldnt be rehomed until this suitable age, they should be kept with someone who has hand reared kittens before.

Anyway regarding food. get her something really good like Royal canin babycat 34 biscuits and any wet kitten food. However you did say she prefers dry food, so what I would do is put her a bnit of water in the biscuits.

She is not too old to have abit of cimicat either which substitutes a mothers milk and is used to hand rear from birth.

She is hardly eating because she is so young!! As long as she has a few mouthfuls a day and is poo'ing frequently then just keep your eye on her. 2 mouthfuls every few hours will fill her tiny tummy at this age, cats dont over eat like dogs and she will eat when she feels hungry, however if she is going all day without eating then its a worry (but obviously she cant be if she is poo'ing).

You may find she doesnt drink much water, if any, mainly because wet food is very moist anyway, but always have it down in case.

Anyway, good luck with her and im sure you took her at such a young age for the best reasons.

Shes beautiful.
