View Full Version : Places to stay in Town.
lovabulrogue 21-07-2005, 08:57 Hi All,
Having grown up and since moved away from Sheff (worse thing I ever did) and since lost touch with all the developments can someone advise a good place to stay (near Div/West St) if possible. I hear Hallam Towers is being grounded, shame really ! Let me guess, trendy flats ?
Never stayed there myself but we have had visitors who have stayed at Westbourne House Hotel in Broomhill which is small but meant to be good

Also, close by, is the Rutland Hotel

is a place to stay for a few nights? or somewhere to live? KookyKoo, it's a place to stay next Fri and Sat night, my friend owns the Washington Pub, so I would like to be near there. Also how do I get my picture uploaded onto this site ? Thanks for your reply. Lovabulrogue.
KookyKoo 21-07-2005, 09:38 hmmm you could poss book into Victoria Hall for a few nights, I don't know what the terms are?
To upload your picture, go into your options and it's the thing that says avatar- actually look at this, it's what I did:

40summat 21-07-2005, 09:45 I usually stay at the Premier Lodge Inn on Angel St/ Bank St corner,
Opposite the Boardwalk (i think the cinema stood there)
It's new, clean, buffet breky, and you get discount on your parking in the multi story car park at the back.
If you fancy something a bit different, I've stayed onboard a narrow boat on the canal basin before, had a long weekend and it was brilliant,
you would not belive how peacefull it is there.
All mod cons, we did'nt want to leave.
Plenty of other hotels about though at about £50 per night.
lovabulrogue 21-07-2005, 10:16 Thanks KookyKoo.
Managed to resize one of mine and put it on, so Victoria Hall, never heard of it !
KookyKoo 21-07-2005, 11:10 hmmm I think their website is victoriahall.com
I live in that area myself but don't actually know of any hotels in that actual area... nearest I can think of are the Bath Hotel and the Harley.
Well done on the avatar!

What area is that, near top of west st.....as that's where i want to be centered.
KookyKoo 21-07-2005, 12:14 yes the Bath Hotel and the Harley are both near the top of West St/Glossop Rd, by the lights at the University tram stop- the Bath Hotel is the Dev Green side of the lights, the Harley's the opposite side.

The Cat, I moved away in 1990, so a lot of new places have sprung up. Yes I am slightly biased, yet it is good, coz u get no hassle from bouncers, no dress code, music is great, also my other friend had a picture exhibition on there recently. It's a place I feel at home in, if that makes sense. I am made to feel at home, coz I have known the owner since I was seven and he was 5 !!! So, The Cat...... ?
KookyKoo 21-07-2005, 12:26 The Devonshire Cat on Fitzwilliam St, just up from the Washington, lovely pub with loads of different beers and yummy food!
