Hi all,
We are looking to welcome a labrador into our family.
We are really wanting to rehome a rescue dog, can anyone please point us in the right direction. I have a very large garden (3 of them lol), able to take for lots of walks, lots of loving ready to give. I have 3 children they are very used to dogs, and are confident around them.
All advice appreciated.
Sam :)

We have a Labrador he is the softest most placid dog you have ever seen I think you have made a wise choice for a family pet, good luck in you search for one.

We adopted a 9yr old chocolate lab just over a month ago from chesterfield RSPCA, we already have an 11 yr old black lab and hes made a nice companion for her. They are brilliant family pets and even though ours was 9 when we adopted him its more like having a new puppy, hes always bouncing around chasing his ball and playing with toys.

Check the local rspca centres or labrador rescue websites to see if they have any needing homes.

I have a nine year old yellow Lab Tess , also five year old Jack Russell Lily, they are great friends, Tess taught Lily a few good manners as a puppy and also taught her obedience ! I adore Labs, the happy go lucky personality , they just live to please and be loved and eat !! Tess, although nine, is sometimes like a two year old, loves to run and swim . Only negative with a Lab is that you must have a very tight lid on your kitchen bin ! Good luck x

Another lab fan here :)
Before we found Luna at Bawtry we were on the waiting list for a lab from sheffield labrador welfare. They were really nice but unfortunately we weren't patient enough and it was a couple of months after we had Luna that the phonecall came to say they'd found a dog for us.
Saying this waiting times will be different for everyone so def worth a shot.

The website is http://www.labradorwelfare.org/ and you can see pics of some of the dogs on there too.

Good luck xx

great choice, i have a 2 year old black lab. he is so loyal and loving and would walk to then end of the world and back with us if he had too. the thing i love most about him amongst other things obviously is how he accepts other pets that we introduced to him, like my two cats, 6 rabbits and even a hamster! couldnt ask for a better friend! love labs so much

have a look at the rescues in my signature. Lots of dogs looking for a home and chances are your ideal companion is somewhere in there.

Also if you are up for a bit of travel check out many tears in wales.

In my opinion best family dog you could wish for :)

Try RSPCA the lab welfare site someone has mentioned above.
