I recently purchased a Freeview Box. The problem now is, I have loads more channels but still nothing much to interest me to watch. I am affraid I remember the Sweeney and The Professionals first time round and I dont want to buy anything, even though it is advertised by Joan Rivers. I am not into Big Brother for 7 hours over the nightime, Rikki Lake or Trisha. I was a war baby so was bought up on the exploits of returning soldiers, sailors and airmen, I dont want to turn on the history channel and see it all again, even in colour.

Has this been a wasted £30? Give me some advice on what to watch please.

In our family the children like the CBBC and CBeebies channels, and the grown ups watch BBC news 24, other than these we've yet to discover any other channels of interest.

We got Freeview a couple of years ago. Generally, nowt to watch - BBC3 is good for comedy but too many repeats, the history channel can be good - includes 'recent' history. Sky travel can be better than you think.

We used to visit someone years ago who had about 300 sky channels. We would flick around with the remote all night.
There was never 'owt on
