Hi,
Sorry if this is in the wrong section...
Me & the mrs have decided to get a dog after long consideration...
I've now blocked all of the bottom of our garden off so it wont be able to escape...
I'm just wondering if anyone is trying to rehome a small dog?
If you could let me know it would be appreciated.
Thanks
Please have a look on rainrescue site there are lots of doggies on there that are in foster at the moment and are looking for a forever home, I wish you well in your search and wish you many happy years as a dog owner
How about Sox? He has been in our kennels for two years and is a lovely boy.

aww poor Sox- you just dont think about animals being so hard to rehome - good thing there are places willing to care for them.
By the way Gemima, fingers crossed SHEFFIELD DOG RESCUE gets a good donation from Waitrose at the end of this month! Only just spotted its one of the chosen charities for August (and for anyone who shops at Waitrose - you still have plenty of time to take your own bags instead of taking waitrose carriers and claim a green token when you pay- you dont have to spend a small fortune on your shopping either!) and if they don't automatically give you a token for bringing your own bags, ask them for one please.
Sheffield Dog Rescue is one of the three local charities nominated for a share of £1000 this month and the more tokens it gets from kindly waitrose shoppers, (the box to deposit them in is in the doorway), the bigger it's share will be- so PLEASE help Sheffield Dog Rescue if you can!
whooo fantastic Katkin I didnt know about that!!
Sox is a fabulous little boy and is overlooked all the time. I hope he gets a home soon as he is going stir crazy.:(
I'm more looking for a puppy. Sorry didnt say that to start with.
Any ideas? Ive tried all the rescue places in Sheffield and Barnsley?
Rescue puppies are few and far between. I know few people, me included who have privately bought pupos(different breeds) without exception were'll all sick of the crap, whining, seperation etc. I won't be doing it again.

There are quite often litters of unwanted puppies at the dog pound, keep phoning and you may fall lucky.

I suppose it depends what you class as a "puppy" to be honest-I'd say anything under 10 months to a year, but when most people want a puppy they mean a dog under about 4 months. It's a shame-I know I sound like I'm preaching but you'd probably have a pretty good chance of finding a relatively young dog (i.e. under a year) in rescue, whereas puppy puppies are quite hard to come by as they get snapped up very quickly :(

Have a look on our website www.rainrescue.co.uk
The Mayflower over at Bawtry often have litters of dumped puppies there that may be suitable.
