Just been watching ‘Who do you think you are’ on TV. Reminded me that my Granddad Frederick Gunson left my Gran with four children and no money around 1919.
Frederick lived on Forres Road in Crookes. He was a French Polisher working for my Great Granddad. His father in law.
I believe he was wounded in the first war.
He was also related to, possible grandson, of Gunson of Sheffield flood.
The family story is that he ran off with a lady to Chesterfield. Don’t think he ever divorced my Gran.
Could I be sort of related to you?
