Hi
My view is the further out of town towards millhouses park the better,I think some of the areas at the bottom in particular as you near London road look scruffy and I would look elsewhere if it was me.

I would aviod living actually on Abbeydale Rd if you can.
It all depends on your budget, as said above, the further out of town you go the more expensive it is.
A good compromise is between Broadfield Rd & Archer Rd. The roads either side are always reasonably priced and are 2/3/4 bed terraces. My mate used to live on Arnside Terrace and it was a nice place to live. Quiet, friendly, safe with a good choice of places to eat.

Agree with Fudbeer, after Archer Road is nicer, but pricier.
London Road, Abbeydale Road is a mixture of students, older people been there years and ethnic groups. Depends what you want really.
Great for takeaways and independant food shops. Pops at Neather Edge is great.
We lived on Abbeydale Road for many years and we loved it. You quickly get used to the traffic noise and it doesnt bother you after a while. It is very convenient for all of the shops and public transport. Car parking can be a problem in some areas.
