Sheffield swimmers are being given a chance to hone their skills this summer at one of the country's top aquatic facilities.
Ponds Forge International Sports Centre is running full day sessions in its Olympic sized competition pool for members of the public to swim in the 50m lanes, like champion swimmer Rebecca Adlington.
The pool at Ponds Forge, one of only four Olympic-sized pools in the UK, is usually open to pay-as-you-go swimmers and as part of the Fitness Unlimited membership package as 25m lanes and two weekly 50m evening sessions.
Dawn Petre, Events Manager at the Sheffield International Venues-managed sports centre, said: "Opening the lanes for full days will give more swimmers more chance to emulate the gold medal winners from Beijing.
"The 50m pool is a real asset to Sheffield and it is rare that we have the chance to open it up in full length lanes for whole days for the public because of the major competitions and sessions we have on.
"There are not many places in the UK where you can swim 50m lengths like an Olympian and we pride ourselves on being able to provide that service."
Lane swimming in the 50m pool is available at Ponds Forge all day on Saturday 15, Sunday 16, Sunday 23 August, 30th and 31st August and 6th September.
