Hi Guys,
Can someone please explain to me where I find one of those places where you can get parts from scrap cars and also how it all works?
ALSO,
Does anyone know what the following are and where I might get them from (other than a dealer)
One of my windscreen wipers has stopped working and this is because, under the bonnet where they attach to an arm, the plastic ball socket has worn away. Initially I was told by a dealer that I would need a whole new wiper blade arm and this is gonna cost me quite a bit inc fitting, however he AA man said I didn’t and I could buy the socket only for a couple of £’s. Whats it called and where do I get one from???
Thanks

There's chap up the Loxley Road at Malin Bridge who specialises in Fiats - he's repaired my lads Punto before now. I'm sure he'll have 2nd hand parts and will be able to fix it for you. I'll try and dig out/remember his name and number and edit this post.
If you get that freebie paper The Gazette, he normally has a small boxed ad in the back of that
The same happened on my Punto (apparently it's a common fault for the offside wiper), and after pricing it up at various places, my brother did a temporary repair on it with a cable tie through the joint where the pin had sheared off.
That was a year ago, and it's still going strong! :o
If none of the scrap yards have the part ebay is sometimes worth a look for bits for cars.

who told you the ecu would need replacing? ive never heard that before when the power steering has gone. i would have thought you would need a new power stearing pump and thats it

Punto's tend to have an electric PAS mounted on the column so quite often need pump and ECU as combined unit, however sometimes is down to poor fitting of the block connectors on the ECU
