I don't "blog" myself, but sometimes if I'm having trouble getting to sleep I know I can always read through someone else's blog to help me on my way to the land of nod.

Honest answer? No, I think it's one of the pointless things ever invented :) One in a million is ok and worth looking at (but even then usually for a one-off article), but should I be really interested in some teenager's rantings about life and cinema reviews?

(or am i just a miserable grumpy git? ;))

I must say, I think it's really up yourself to have one! No offence, but is your life so interesting people would want to read about it?

Not you personally robbie, just rhetorically.

I've toyed with it, tried it and thought of using a blog as a sort of advertisement for some of my creative writing and such, but on the whole I don't have enough time to keep it up to date and I'm really not sure that my life is interesting enough.

As for the creative writing - bog standard web site will have to do!

just a sort of online diary.

sites such as Xanga.com, Livejournal and blogspot do them for free.

I know a few people who do mp3 blogs as well...

its mainly for teenagers with depression problems who like to let there friends read how everybody hates them and they are going to self harm themselves.

basically they want to tell people thing without having to tell them direct...even though they prob email there mates to tell them where there blog is!!

daft!

I don't have a blog and i don't see that i would ever want one.
Blogs can be very useful though. I find a lot of computer tips and tricks off blogs and the amount of new software that is availabe in blogs is amazing. Take This One (http://dynatech.r8.org/?p=13) for example

I have one on the basis that I should write something but I'm too lazy. Therefore, the odd article or film review makes me feel better...

You've not read many blogs then? Admittedly some people just shouldn't be allowed to blog.....maybe they think someone will care.....which some people do.

All the blogs I read are mainly people who are well known web designers, passing out useful info, writing articles etc or even pointing out stuff other people might not have found on the net. Then stuff like friends who are off travelling the world and update with stuff they've seen, done etc. Never read a blog by a depressed teenager.

I have a livejournal, I keep it regularly up to date, usually with my musings.

mostly though its a way of posting about social gatherings and parties, its a great way to send out invites to others and let people know if you're having a party.

Its also a great way of keeping in touch with friends who you don't see so often.

I started one about 2 months back. I should use it more often but sadly dont. It seems to have ended up a mixture of news for my freinds and moaning shop.
