I know this has been done before and I have searched but can't find it. (maybe as it's in the old ask an expert)

I am having probs with setting up my tv etc. This is how it' set up.

I have .........

TV to DVD
TV to Sky
Sky to Video

We can watch TV, watch videos and DVD's but cannot record anything. We can't watch terrestrial channels via an ariel as it's never worked. For some reason, Sky comes through AV1 and to watch DVD's you have to go to AV2. It does work ok like this but still not sure it's right. The main problem is we cannot record anything. I'm sure the video is ok as it plays fine.

Any ideas anyone? All help gratefully recieved!

Thanks

think you have to watch what you record when you have sky (me being in the poorhouse i dont have it). so make sure you have sky on then try to record and see if that works?

its hard to say without being there!.. i have so many wires and things linked up i've kinda forgot what ive done myself!!

What are you connecting through, co-ax or SCART?

How many SCART sockets has the video got?

If you can, connect the Sky to AV1 on the video, and then AV2 on the video to the TV. You'll have to set the TV to the AV channel that the SCART from the video is plugged into and Sky should come through. To record from Sky select the AV1 channel on the video.

For the AV1\AV2 issue on the TV, doesn't really matter which way around they are, if you want them the other way around just swap them over.
