Well I have now thanks. It was a bit silly coming onto the forum if you have a bug as now we are all probably infected.

My youngest boy has had it, he came down with it on his birthday (luckily a couple of hours after his party)- come to think of it ..... I felt similar a couple of weeks ago, and my other half hasn't been feeling too good either. It wasn't too incapacitating, but made me feel very tired- easily treated with paracetamol and ibuprofen, you know:clap:

Thanks for the thread Oatescamilla. My symptoms:- aching legs, very tired, went to bed 12.30 Sunday lunch time, woke 2/3 time for a drink then died a death again within 2 mins. Didn't wake up again till 6.30 am Monday. Went to work Monday but had to go home lunch time. Back in bed again. Felt sick couldn't eat. Just got really back to normal this afternoon. Wondered what it was, thought it could have been heat stroke through being in the sun Sunday morning. You are the first person I have heard of having something similar

Not got that bug but I have another that seems to be doing the rounds at the mo....

Its more of a liquid poo / incredibly sharp pains in the area between the belly button and rib cage / totally washed out for a couple of days but then still having sharp pains for days afterwards....

I got it saturday and I'm feeling generally ok now apart from these really nasty crampy pains... I've never had a stomach bug last this long.. normally 2 days and I'm right as rain.. and never had anything that is as painful as this is.. makes me wince everytime I get a cramp.

Anyone else had it?.. a few people at work have..

We've been having this on and off without warning for the past two or three months, and just for good measure I've had the stomach one as well I think.

Have any of you considered 'Sinusitus'?

Lots of your symptoms may point toward this.

I'm not a doctor or anything, but i sometimes suffer with this, especially during the allergy season and some days i feel extremely lathargic, achy and just not with it.

I have just recovered from a bout of 'the galloping gutrot'. Dont know if it's same thing but it whacked me out for a couple of days. As we used to call it in London, the 'old backdoor trot' meant I have had to stay next to a loo for two days. Sorry if you are having your breakfast.

Dont eat, drink lots of tap water, not coffee or tea, juice or fizzy water etc. just plain old Adam's Ale. Flush that little rascal out of your system.

i have had this bug since last Saturday..it started with the runs then a headache that didn't respond to paracetamol and achy, extremely sleepy, lightheaded, nauseous etc. It is now Thursday and i am feeling probably 25% better but still a bit headachy and tired. It has made me feel bloody awful. Another couple of colleagues at work have had it and this morning when i went to see the nurse for my regular blood pressure check the receptionist said she was off ill with the "tummy bug that's going around."..Hope no one else gets it..it is awful.

Bird flu = ultimate demise of the human race

Apparently. Its a nasty virus that chickens get but it has been shown to spread to other animals I think. If its gets to humans we'll all be wiped out or at least there'll be a global pandemic with many dead.

I think it basically involves us all turning into chickens. Don't think we'll really be able to tell any difference to be honest.

I've also had the dodgy stomach for a few days, but it's the tiredness that's getting me down. For the last couple of weeks, i've been feeling sooo tired. Its as though someone has anaesthetized me and i have to fight to stay awake. My head goes really strange and i cant think properly, it also goes the other way round and i cant wake up when i've been asleep. Sort of almost there but have to come round gradually . It's quite scary, as though i've been gassed. Is it a virus, some sort of infection or what! This post probably sounds gibberish, i'm feeling a bit like that now. Sorry:(

Oh lord I have started with it too. I had a really sore throat this morning which started last night, and today after lunch I started getting stomach cramps. So I came home and went to bed.
I have been feeling achy today too. I think I will cut out solids until tommorrow and drink plenty of liquid in an effort to flush it out. :gag: :gag: :gag: :gag: :gag:

I got a runny nose, sneezin and itchy red eyes. I thought it was hayfever but the doc says it's an eye infection. I haven't worn makeup in weeks now and I'm constantly sniffing. Attractive!

I thinkit must have been this bug I had a few days ago. Fever, shivering and hot and my temperature was rising rapicly up to 38.8C with aching limbs.

Since I just got back from Angola a three weeks ago I immediately suspected malaria and went into the response I have been taught.

I broke open the Malaria Survival Kit that the people I work for provide. The instructions are to start the course of medication immediately and then use the test kit included.

Luckily the test proved negative, but the medication which is the latest modern treatment knocked out the fever within 1 1/2 hours!

I was impressed with this. The medication (Coartem) contains a new drug...... well new to the west, but has been used in Chinese herbal medicine for many years as an anti fever treatment.

Maybe one of those Chinese medicine shops that hadve sprung up would be worth a visit for some treatment for this bug that's going round?

seems unlikely that the drug (actually a combination of two) had any effect as it directly targets the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum.

Yes,I think my sons had it .Hes 39yrs and is usually very fit and healthy.Started with dry tickly throat, and just thought it was a cold starting. Then got all aching limbs for a full week, and sweating, thought it was sunstroke,as was during the hot weather. Then got a bad cough ,but just starting to clear uo now. Never had a cold for three weeks like this,He says lots of people have got it. What is it ? Is it a virus ?

Thank the lord, it isn't just me (although I'll have given it to my workmates now!). Mine started tuesday night, with a sore throat. A blocked nose ensued, followed by a rasping cough, and I broke out into a sweat whenever I did anything mildly stressful. It's just about sunday now, and I'm ok, apart from the cough and one blocked nostril.

The bubose seems to have receded as well. Looks like I'm indestuctible....

Hubby got something similar to this bug when we were in Egypt. He had 'tummy trouble' but also had painful stomach cramps for over a week. Not sure if it's the same thing, he could have caught it before we went away and maybe took a couple of days 'incubation'

But, I've not had anything so it's obviously not contagious (well, not the one he had anyway)!
