That is a r8 goal, I never understood why he's never really been played at lane. At one point Bayern Munich were supposedly interested in signing him!

Could have gone anywhere, a bit like Tudgay's strike at the Lane last season. ;)

Makes me laugh how a player scores a good goal and suddenly he should be in the team. Carney was awful for us. Not enough pace and far far to lightweight. Spending 3 seconds scoring a good goal does not justify playing him for 90 minutes.

he does a goal like that every so often- he did one for australia just before we signed him and since then he has been crap for us- id sell him asap to get him off the wage bill

Had that video to his portfolio and you never know teams might be lining up to sign him?

To be honest he hasn't been given a fair shake at the Lane from Blackwell and his confidence must be very low.
When he goes to play for his country he obviously ups his game and wants to play for the manager.
He would be a great pick up for some team IMO

I'm inclined to think it was the other way round, not just saying that because it's Tudgay. Carney's was a top goal, just more of a hit and hope.

Look at the Technique, look at the strike it’s beautiful and that’s coming from Kammy who seems to put is former club down on a regular basis.

I flew back for that match and that goal made it worth every penny

The thing that turned the fans off Carney appeared to be his lack of effort and seemingly poor attitude - probably the slowest winger ever seen at the Lane, bottled any tackles, and just didn't look like he could be bothered.

As poor as Hendrie has been, at least he has sometimes shown flashes of why we signed him - Carney's good moments at the Lane are minimal at best. Maybe a different manager could've got more out of him, but I doubt we'll see that here at the Lane.

Not seen much of Carney before but he's had some pretty decent club's after him in recent time's.
