If there's enough people, we could always start one if there isn't one already... That doesnt sound a bad idea - maybe we could start a group up. I know how hard it is to get help when you need it and also you never seem to find people that know how you feel. Lizzie1 06-09-2010, 15:13 I would be intgerested in being involved in starting this group up. I'm in Walkley. What does everyone think? loopylulu 06-09-2010, 19:17 I would be intgerested in being involved in starting this group up. I'm in Walkley. What does everyone think? We would need more people to become involved - dont know how many more people are interested - nobody else has posted anything. pinkfairy82 09-09-2010, 22:18 hey i suffer from anxiety and depression and havent found any support groups, im fairly new to sheffield only been here 3 yrs. Thomas who works there is lovely and they have a great room on the top floor that could be ideal for you. The orchard centre number is 07904 408 893 Tipex 16-09-2010, 15:39 Does such thing exist? in S11 or S10 preferably? Most surgeries now have an in-house mental health team comprising of counsellors, cognitive Behavioural therapist and Psychological Wellbeing practitioners dealing with common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, PTSD and phobias etc. you need to speak to your gp about being referred. There are also workshops being held around sheffield referred to as healthy living workshops and Stress control courses taking place on tuesday evenings. The stress control is a 6week course and you can take family members and friends with you. greengrass11 19-11-2010, 02:41 hello i would like to turn up to your group , put me on your list sikes 20-11-2010, 17:04 Hey, you need to call 2264380 and register with the admin team. Does anyone know if there are any support services for people who have recently been discharged from hospital and finding things too difficult? espadrille 04-06-2011, 16:24 sorry for duplicate post in not so many words Best to contact MIND . They are in Nether Edge on Wostenholme Rd charlie9865 09-06-2011, 23:53 I have post traumatic stress disorder and last few yr went in a blur. I felt not only did I push away friends but that I should of had more faith in some of them. PTs is most scary thing to go through felt like my mind was wiped and I had to relive everything all over again in flashbacks and nightmares. I also deteriorated with my health as I have cmt also known as motor neurones. I was scared and alone and felt deserted by those I thought would always be there. Instead of these "so called" "friends", that left me thought I enjoyed being full of anger and hate But I have since the last few year come out other end of it all. And some of them friends that left and was not there, I still don't see no it don't bother me about them ones. But the friends I didn't give enough credit for like littlestarshine and barbiegirl80 Where still there yeh we all know things won't quiet be same and we are in touch by messages only. But that's great with me, just knowing that it was never a no just a not right now. And I have made some amazing new friends to, who are beautiful inside and out. And along with the old and new friends that helped me through it I'm happy at last. Sheffield mind is a great support group :) AbigailB 15-12-2011, 11:08 Hi all, If anyone is still interested, come to Live Well support group. Does anyone know if there are any support services for people who have recently been discharged from hospital and finding things too difficult? Does this sound like something that could help? Unfortunately you cannot self refer so have to go to your GP and get referred. Good luck. http://www.sct.nhs.uk/our-services/adult-mental-health/community-services/SPACES petstar 14-02-2012, 20:38 netheredge was it a general ward you came off? if not didnt the hospital offer to refer you to the home treatment service for some support. |
