Just seen this on the website and wondered what went wrong, we got in for 1.55 and the pies ran out just as we got to the front of the queue meaning we had to join another one.

Apart from a few issues with people standing and people needing to move around I didn't see any problems, did anyone else see anything?

Yes they also ran out of beer on the north stand, aswell as only having a couple of outlets to buy it from.
There should be a lot more food and beer outlets.

Some miserable gets seem to have moaned about all sorts after the match. I had no problems. I reckon people were fed up after the result, so needed to summat to moan about. :D

You must be invincible then cause i was gutted, losing a two goal lead after playing like we did in the first half was impossible to comprehend pal.

Who's blaming beers or pies?
Isnt the thread about initiatives going right or wrong, which at the end of the day they didn't, the kick off was 10 minutes late and we didnt even get a hi ho silver.
Organistaion was 40% at the best on Saturday, it need's much improvment.

Tbf Hi Ho isn't usually played when we hold a mins silence. I actually don't like Hi Ho anyway. The only real problems I heard of were lack of pies and beer and queues. Queues aren't unusual when there's a 30k crowd. I didn't experience any problems on the day.

Give over the North stand was ridicolous, toilets not enough, food outlets not enough, beer outlets not enough.
Everybody was on about it.

Other than the pies I didn't see anything apart from they didn't anounce how much injury time there was.

What is being investigated then as the pies were a one off offer?

Do you think these initiatives helped get the crowd up? What do you think Wednesday would have to do to get full houses?

I think you should, it's about attendance... oh wait, it's about Wednesdays.:hihi:

I'm serious, though. It's related to this topic, so I thought I'd ask. I actually think the only thing that assures good attendances in is results, not initiatives.

be top of the league and sign some quality players

Exactly.

At least thier acknowledging that it didnt run as smoothly as it should have done and are looking into doing somthing about it. There have been times really when nothing would have been doneto impove the experience and if it things had gone wrong we'd have got a f uck you attitude.

Personally, I'm just made up with the fact we've got draught Carling back on in the South stand ( easily please me tha nose :) :) )

I can't comment on that as I was on Kop. They can't increase the number of toilets- but that is in the plans drawn up.

What annoys me is, I go to games for the football. I couldn't care less about the food on offer really - though them Beres pies are superb. Lots of people seem to moan for the sake of it about the food and beer etc etc. We're there for the footy to support Wednesday, not to fine dine :hihi:. I do understand Wednesday needing to provide a good and efficient service and to maximise income through things such as catering, which by the sounds of it, didn't work well at the weekend. But these things still annoy me, because as soon as I get to the ground, I'm in my seat waiting for the match, not deciding which pie I want.

I agree it wasn't brilliantly organised but it was the first game of the season!

The pie business was odd though, we got in quite early and there was a bloke on the NS issuing vouchers to anyone who asked for them, I got three for my two lads and myself and I swear I could have sent them back for another three with no questions asked.

We then took them to the counter at 1.50 and they'd sold out (hardly surprising if they were effectively giving as many vouchers as you want out).

We went to another counter though and got them, very nice they were as well!

Im not being funny but there has got to have been some sort of money earner behind that advertising wise for the pie company and Wednesday (i would have hoped so anyway), not sure what it could have been but it's strange to say the least free pies before 2 come on man lmao.

the issues were, we were told the ticket scanners were being temprimental, either they'd work or they wouldnt, all the tickets bought at the ticket office for the north were printed wrong they had the uppers gangways letters printed for the lower seats and vise versa, even the season tickets were printed wrong and the little credit cards plus i heard that in the south stand some fans had actually bought tickets for the home subs bench!!!! and a lot of the disabled seat were also sold to able bodied fans. and to top it all off the gangway lettering at the bottom of the ramps and on the lower concourse had been changed to row numbers, so no one knew where they were going.

The turnstile scanners were letting tickets from any stand into the north, i personally had to escort at least 20 people round to the cop before the match. the free pie or fruit back was way more popular than expected, each kiosk on the north had about 5 fruit bags and 25 pies which went in no time.

apart from that and the result it was ok

My nephew printed his 'ticket' out and when he got there his seat had gone to someone else who had printed his 'ticket' talking to some of the people around him it didn't seem to be a 1 off with that problem
