I'm going to St James' Park for the first time. Quite looking forward to it. Anyone else going? Shame it's a midweek game.

Yes mate it should be a top day, were staying in Gateshead for the night.
The grounds only a ten minute walk from the station aswell if your going on the train.

I wanted to stop over cos I have a few geordie mates but i don't have enough holidays left. That's why I wish it was a weekend. Newcastle's a great night out.

I can't make it, it's my little boy's second birthday on that day and I can't wriggle out of his party! If only the 15 days overdue little bugger had popped out a couple of hours earlier, his birthday would have been the day before and I could have gone to Newcastle! That said, I did make it to the match on the day he was born.

Last time I went to Newcastle we won and went top of the Premiership. Seems like rather a long time ago now...

That reminds me of the following

There was a call on the tannoy a couple of years ago at the Lane
"Will Mr. xxxxxx please make himself known to the stewards as your wife has just gone into labor" you can imagine the cheer that went up, and the comments after wards
I blame the wife very inconsiderate of her lol

"Poor sod, he's just had to sit and watch United, now he's got to go home and make his own tea"

The best thing about St James Park is the big park next to it.
Plenty of open space to have a few tinnies on a hot Wednesday afternoon in August lol.

...and plenty of room to get chased by the Geordie yobs after the game

I remember the game in the late 80's/early 90's when we beat them 3-1 and sent them down. It was definitely not a walk in the park after that game :help:

Good going for the first home game. By the end of the season, you'll be ready for the London marathon :hihi:
