...... fancy going for a change with missus - maybe tonight?

Can anyone tell me about the place with the good seating/bar etc

Is it at the retail park?

How much does it cost approx. and is it worth paying the extra?

Yeh, that'll be UGC at Centertainment Valley.

Posh bar is on floor one, sweeties ground floor.

'bout 5 per person for the movie, random offers available at the bar (I think at the mo it's by a small glass of wine get a large free).

The Showroom cinema near the station is very good. it has a bar and sells food and stuff. It has smaller screens mainly showing independant films so it depends what your after.

Head out to UGC at Centertainment which is apparently here (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&search_result=&db=pc&cidr_client=none&lang=&pc=S92EP&advanced=&client=public&addr2=&quicksearch=s9+2ep&addr3=&addr1=)

Think it's a little over a fiver a ticket, but the seats/screens and sound systems are the best in Sheff. You can book online too at ww.ugccinemas.co.uk. There's a bar in the cinema itself and several in the surrounding facilities. Has it's own tram stop on the yellow line if you both fancy a beer.

Thanks.

May give them both a whirl soon.

Anyone know what's playing at Showroom in near future?

Avoid UCG at Valley Centertainment on Wednesdays unless you've got an Orange mobile phone - it's their 2 for 1 offer and the place is absolutely packed.
It's a good deal - 2 adults for just over a fiver, but it's so popular, you have to queue round the foyer for about half an hour to get your tickets. And if you're one of the few full paying customers there on a Wednesday there's no separate queue for you.
The bar area also gets overcrowded - we finally gave up waiting for a pint after being stood there for about 15 mins!

Not sure if other cinemas are the same on Wednesdays, or just UCG.

Hasn't been like that in while. Ah, I remember the days when Wednesday was busy! Those were the days.....(drifts off into a daydream for half an hour).....

Erm.yeah...back to it all. Other cinemas do the Orange Wednesday too, but as we have the majority of market share, obviously we get hit more. Not sure about the half hour queue though. Having timed it when it looped around and to the door, with only 4 staff on (the usual for a Wed) it took just under 10 mins from the back to the front. It's that temproal anomoly on the second lane that confuses people ;)

One option is to arrive early..say 6.30pm. Buy your tickets whilst no-one is around. Then pop off for a meal somewhere, before returning, going to the bar for a few drinks, then your film. Make a night of it.

It was like that 2 weeks ago when we were there - but maybe it was a one off. But yeah, you're right - it would be better to be able to make a night of it like you suggest but not everyone has the time (or money) to fit all that in in one night!

Have you got shares in Valley Centertainment ????????!!!!!!!!

Yeah..Monday and Tuesday are about as quiet as they come. Thursday can be quiet, unless there are previews of something.

The prices at that bar in there are mad though. My jaw dropped when the barmaid told me how much my round costs.

If your having a few drinks as well best off going to the bar in the bowling place (cant rember what it was called).

The prices there aren't much better! You are better going to the pub by the entrance to the Centertainment.
