I'm sure the rap world will be beside itself (http://www.cbc.ca/story/arts/national/2005/07/18/Arts/eminemretire050718.html) ;)

It shows what a smooth operator and smart businessman he is. I think his most recent albums show that he was running out of ideas and repeating himself. He made two excellent albums and a quite decent movie. He is certainly smart enough to know when to quit - or rather to move on to producing and guiding other artists on his own label.

Good. I hate the guy, he's so arrogant and smug. :|

I'll believe it when some confirmation from his studio, or from Em himself is reported. All of that article was just "some guy who used to work with Eminem says..."

Oh , my God ------No more Eminen !
It will be like a cloud passing over humanity. A light has gone out of our lives. Is it possible for Elton John or someone to compose something that will mourn his giving up singing ?
He was , to music , what Shakespeare was to Drama. Those , wonderful , gentle lyrics ! O.M.G.
Is it possible that all the other Rap , "Artists " will pack up too , in sympathy ?
Let us pray that they show solidarity with this great man and disappear into obscurity . Rap is just not Rap , without our beloved Eminen.O.M.G. again.

It's a shame that the only original one is retiring leaving all the cookie-cutter hoes-guns-an'-bling rappers still recording, just shows what people prefer.
