Detectives investigating the shooting of a businessman who was attacked at his home in Sheffield are questioning a 25-year-old man.

Mark Holland, 38, was seriously injured when he was shot in the chest during a struggle with two intruders at his home in Bradfield on 21 April.

The man, from Sheffield, was arrested in the Southey Green area when officers grew suspicious of the car he was in.

Police are also questioning him about a number of other offences.

Stolen Porsche

Mr Holland spent several weeks in the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield - some of it in intensive care - after the raid on his home.

A bullet from a 9mm handgun missed his heart by millimetres, but passed through his liver, a lung and a major artery before lodging in the wooden floor of the house.

The two men escaped in a Porsche Boxter belonging to Mr Holland's fiancee - a 25th birthday present.

The car was found later the same morning in Longley Hall Road, Sheffield, about 10 miles away.

Its about time they cought the scum that did this!!

Owlsman,

I was interested to see the report last night on Calendar when they reported on the arrest of the individual involved in that job.

They quoted Mark Holland as been blasted in the chest at close range with a shotgun ??

Typical of the press to get a simple press release from the Police or the courts wrong yet again.

Just like the job where the 12 yr old girl has just been dealt with for the West yorkshire hanging of the 5yr old job.
The press on most major news channels quoted her as having pleaded to causing Grevious Bodily Harm which isnt the case as she copped a plea to an actual bodily harm as the powers that be no doubt offered it up as an option instead of the GBH charge so she changed her plea to the lesser sentence when she had actually tried to hang a 5yr old boy. !!

What kind of home situation must she have come from where in her mind it is right to go around trying things like that. ??

What rights and wrongs has she been taught by her parents and family ??
