I am looking for Cyril Kendrick. He will be in his late seventies. He is my father. Have'nt seen or heard from him in 50 years

Do you know his date of birth ?

There was some Kendricks who lived on Fielding Road but they moved to Australia Years ago.

There is a Kendrick who does write on here from time to time, I'm sure if she reads your posting she will be in touch.

australlia sounds about right maybe. some of the family have moved to australlia. Cyril Kendrick would be in his mid to late 70s now if that helps anyone. I belive that Cyril was a bus driver or worked on the bus's in sheffield.
If possible does anybody know the name of the wife or partner of Mr Cyril Kendrick, if that would be possible this would fill a big blank.

Hi dragonlady5 - I hope this isn't bad news for you, but looking on findmypast.com I found a Cyril Kendrick who died in Sheffield in December 1999. His date of birth is given as 9 February 1929. The births index confirms that a Cyril Kendrick was born in Sheffield in the first quarter of 1929 (mother's maiden name Gillott). The electoral rolls for 2003 and 2004 (which I have on CDs) don't mention a Cyril Kendrick resident in Sheffield.

Assuming that the Cyril Kendrick who was born in Sheffield in January-March 1929 is the right one, you can obtain a birth certificate which (usually...) has the father's name. You can order a certificate online (http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/) or from the Sheffield Register Office; it costs £7. The details are Volume 9c Page 582.

Hillsbro are you actually from Hillsbrough if so you may know our family the Grants Brenda and Donald Grant and Robin Grant. we left sheffield in around 1994

Yes - I seem to remember a family called Myers who lived next door to the Savages. I was at King Edward's with Paul Savage and we used to go on trainspotting trips together. My goodness - that's a long time ago now...:(

yes i recall the savages that was along time ago. my son who is now 20 went down to see his grandmother mary myers for the first time in 19 years last month. he also knows an old boy by the name of savage.

i recall the name simmons but i havent lived in dorothy road for over 30 years i left there when i was 21. i havent seen bryan myself for alot of years, i know that barry is well though.

So even though he lived in the same city all those years, he never tried to see you or anything? This is like something from Heir Hunters or Who do you think you are :) Did you see the one last night? Kim Cattrell's grandfather walked out on his kids when they were little and started a new family. He never made any attempt to find out how they were doing either. It's obviously more common that we think. I hope it all has a happy ending for both sets of kids/grandkids :thumbsup:

my father ( Cyril ) as far as i belive never wanted to know me, noone told me where he lived or about the family or his family. I havent had contact with him since i was about 4 or 5 years old. If your his daughter this makes us step sisters. Robin has only just met his uncle barry about 6 weeks ago. he would like to add you to his msn to get to know his family.

barry is my full brother and robins uncle and as far as i understand ( Zante ) will be my half sister.

hi zante im sorry i didnt know about my fathers family, i have never heard or seen my family from the age of 4 or 5. my father left me when i was just a toddler. i would really like to get to know my sister if possible. Robin will add you on facebook tonight sometime. Robin only met his uncle barry and dean a few weeks ago. He only saw his grandmother ( Mary Myers ) for the first time in 18-19 years a few weeks ago when he decided to make a suprise visit to there home in sheffield. would just like to say thankyou for helping my half sister find me i knew about her and just thought she didnt want to know about me it turns out she never knew who i was and she never knew that our dad did try very hard to see her but wasnt allowed ( it was so hard in the 60S ) ive spoke to her today for the first time and it was as if we had knowen each other for ever we will be keeping intouch forever now and i hope to meet her soon thanks again zante
