I was very bored so decided to check out what United are doing these days so went on their website and found this link to the new Squad Numbers for the 09/10 season

http://www.sufc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10418~1744309,00.html

It left me with a couple of questions?
1. There's no recognised No1 Keepeer (explainable with the PK situation i guess
2. Billy Sharp has a squad number but Derek Geary and Gary Speed dont?

Does this mean anything or is it the same old Squad Numbers dont mean anytihng these days scenario?

Dont worry ... all these daft questions are bound to stop by Friday night/ Saturday afternoon when he have some actual football to talk about!!!

p.s (im really setting myself up for a 'worry about your own club wendy comment but i havnt seen our numbers yet)

i guess they arent planning on using geary then. they dont really mean much anyway but he will get one when he plays a game, unless its a mistake on the site.

There's no number 8 allocated either. That's being held in reserve for Brian Stock, should Sharp see sense and agree to a move to Donny...

It says on the site that Geary and Speed will be allocated a number once they are near fitness levels to get into the first team
