picked the first( & if my memory is correct the only) 2nd 3rd 4th & 5th horse
s to finish the Grand National ,that would be the yr after Mr What won i think Wynbough or Oxo won had them permed correct on Littlewoods but didnt send them in .I seem to remember it payed around 5 million that yr(57-58?), So what am i missing A LIFE OF EASE

I had some tim tams when I was in Oz and also got some newcastle brown on draught which I have never seen in england

about 45yrs ago there was a oneroomed bar above a shop (i think) just before you got to the "fiesta club) they had newcastle brown on draught, lovely it was, quite a posh place as i remember, somebody must recall its name:cool::cool::cool:

I miss being able to repair things rather than throwing them away because they no longer make the parts and everything's treated as disposable.

Think you mean the Claymore it had tartan carpets and they used to bring haggis round on Burns night.


The thing that's missing from my past is perhaps being able to go out at night up town and feel safe walking alone just wouldn't dream of it now.

I'm not that old thankfully ;), although I do remember "idiot mittens" as they were called. Probably had some when I was very young.

The big penny bubblies yr on about are sold in a sweet shop on the main road in bakewell..I know cos my sister and I went there on sunday and saw them...anglo bubbly I think it said on them...pink and blue wrappers..I remember blowing them when I was a kid...they popped all over yr face..LOL...I didnt buy any tho...they also sell wham bars...remember them?? And pink sherbert with blackcurrant lollies to dip in it...LOL...sherbert when I was a kid used to be 2d in old money and the lollies used to be 1d...the blackcurrant lollies were 80p for one on sunday!!! Now thats inflation for ya!! :hihi:
