Just seen this on the website, it seems that tickets are selling well and they've made it all ticket.

Don't think I'll make it in time for the pie, and I'd be a little bit annoyed if I hadn't got a ticket yet and they've decided to make it all ticket 4 days before the game!

Well I did ask for new ideas on another thread, seems like someone has thought something up!

You see it can be useful to talk about contentious areas!

i feel if the tickets are priced correctly ,a profit can still be made ,even with throwing in a free pie. i think this shows the ticket pricing in a good light .

i wonder if other clubs will follow this well though out policy of including a snack in their ticket pricing

If somebody's going to be there before 2pm to take advantage of a free pie, chances are they'll buy something else to eat or drink in that hour.

Personally, I'm not that desperate for a pie! If it was free beer on the other hand...

Perhaps United will chuck some peas in as well!

On a serious note, can you imagine the chaos if you get there before two but then miss out cos the queue is too long.

Lots of unhappy customers I supect!

Exactly and really how much does the pie cost wholesale -- 50p maybe ?

I wonder if it'll be a case of getting a voucher at the turnstile before 2:00.

If you just have to show your season ticket card come to think of it I could get 2 pies which could sway me :), as I can't see my less than 2 year old wanting one! Not that he'll actually be going...

how was the ticket pricing for that ?

did it go up to cover the cost ,or did the club do it as a loss leader ?

What's the logic behind making this all-ticket so close to the game, some fans won't be able to get to the ground before saturday!

Can't you buy tickets online for this, the e-ticket some owls fans were talking about?

Can't blame them for not wanting to be selling tickets on matchday, with it being Barnsley, and also with United not having a game.

Maybe the the Police have just found out that Barnsley is close and requested it? :D

It may be due to the transport situation, any home tickets left will be as easy to acquire by Barnsley fans as Wednesday fans.

With the Mainline strike, the public transport will be very limited, every service will be full of Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley fans and more general public than usual that may have normally managed to get earlier buses,
and obviously the same problems coming away from the ground after the games when the usual services become less frequent.

Also if the ground happened to sell out then there will be congestion outside the ground, turnstile queues etc, I know its unlikely but the Police have probably had to take these things into account.

I hope it is that although surely they wld have realised this before now.

My own feeling is that there isn't enough confidence in the new ticketing system yet and they are worried about duplication of selling seats, or people not having the right details from their online bookings.

On a linked issue, I'm still waiting for one of my three season tickets to come through.

Hence the lack of confidence in the ticketing system!

How does the online ticketing work?

I mean in the sense that "What exactly do you print off? the ticket or a voucher which is redeemable for an actual ticket?"

If the actual ticket is printed then what's stopping a load of photo copies etc to be made?

My printer does'nt print holograms to my knowledge

Very good questions for which I have no answers!

Also, how do you stop someone on the gate selling a ticket for a seat that has just been booked online.

They've hopefully worked all these out, I'm just suspicious at the incentive to get people there early and to make the game all-ticket.

In fact there will be people who won't check the website, who won't know it is now all-ticket!

You print off an A4 sheet which say which match you purchased etc and it has a barcode which you swipe at the gate.

If someone is daft enough to print off extra copies for their mates then they are stupid. The first person to use that barcode will get in and it will register on the system, the others won't get in.

That'll be sorted, they'll put a allocated amount on the gate and take them off the online system. Same as when people used to buy in the ticket office just before the game, instead of paying on gate.

Wrong again benny Barnsley averaged 13189 last season

Wendy Averaged 21541 that gives them 63% of your averaged attendance

Seeing as your ground is 60% bigger than theirs statistically they averaged 3% more than you did for the size of the ground

I can't believe the hypocrisy of you, you want me banned for commenting on attendances yet you do the same!
