View Full Version : Found a pigeon HELP! The best person is the bird man at oldcoates he reabilitates them and then puts them back in teh wild :) Moonbird 05-08-2009, 13:34 Are you still struggling with this, sod the rspca or the vets they just let them die. The best person is the bird man at oldcoates he reabilitates them and then puts them back in teh wild :) The RSPCA and vets do not just let them die they have a duty of care once a wild bird is brought in, I have taken lots of babies to the vet myself and if they are healthy they will continue rearing them for that short time until they are properly fledged and can fly properly, they are then released. slimsid2000 05-08-2009, 14:19 Is that a Bulldog in your avatar? Try Pidgeon Rescue BTW Tinkerbella 05-08-2009, 19:31 Only looks a young one and we have a pigeon nest in a tree above our garden, whats the best thing to do with it? How did you get on? xx terminator 05-08-2009, 19:42 well duno about him but i had a abanded song thrush nest in garden i know for a fact my canarys will rear small birds but these was a bit large for them. And i didnt fancy another few weeks up n down, there was two dead two alive just.So got them warmed up fed , looked ok so dumped them in black birds nest on garden not sure what parents thought but seen them all today leaving hahahahaha. And yes this can be done providing there near enough same age/size and have near enough same feeding habits ect. PS and no RSPCA or Vets do not just let them die lisamidd they pass them onto rescue centres if there not able to look after them Although im not 100% in RSPCA favour how they work. |
