There's a problem you may be able to help me with. My laptop does sometimes drop the signal, it's easy to get back on but a nuisance. I have to go into the wireless network connections, click on 'change advanced settings' and then into 'wireless networks'. There's a box at the top which says 'use windows to configure my wireless network settings' which I have to check. It should stay checked but it doesn't. Is there any way I can keep it checked?

It's possible that your network adapter has it's own configuration utility and it is that that is constantly changing that particular setting.
Thank you will try and get some information about that.

What type/make do you have?
I had this with a desktop PC. The problem was resolved with a driver update. Best check that you have the latest drivers for your wireless network adapter.
Its a net gear router they use
